What do you like about working with Notitia on client projects?

Working with different clients exposes me to a variety of projects, industries, and ideas, keeping my work exciting and dynamic. I find great satisfaction in delivering solutions that exceed client expectations and positively impact their business.

What have been some of your biggest challenges in working as a web developer?

Keeping up with rapidly changing technologies is a fun challenge - it’s part of a web developer’s job to stay current with new frameworks, libraries, and tools and continuously learning and adapting to industry trends. Being really clear when working on projects is really important. Communication is key so that everyone involved understands timelines, technical limitations and possibilities. Also, being able to explain using both technical and non-technical examples and language is a great skill!

What are some of your experiences that have helped shape your career today?

My background in telecommunications sales honed my problem-solving skills, which are essential for debugging and troubleshooting in web development.

My experience in modern photography, which involves using advanced digital cameras and editing software, has transferred to web development where proficiency in programming languages, frameworks, and tools is crucial. Photography has encouraged a creative mindset in capturing unique perspectives and telling stories visually, which benefits web development for brainstorming innovative design solutions and implementing creative features.

What can you do for clients that surprises them - as in, what is that common “aha” moment?

One common "aha" moment for clients is when they see the seamless integration of complex APIs and the robust security measures I implement to protect their data. Clients are often surprised by the level of customisation and the innovative visualisations I can develop from their data.

Any industry insights that you can share for businesses who want to leverage web development?

Test Driven Development (TDD) should be implemented and adopted early in the development process. This approach ensures high-quality web solutions with better design and architecture, easy maintenance, and a faster development cycle.

What is your work background?

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce (double major in Corporate Finance & Marketing) and a Master of Accountancy. My diverse work experience across different industries, including telecommunications and hospitality, and my background in photography have equipped me with a unique blend of technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities that I bring to every project.
