South Western Sydney Primary Health Network (SWSPHN) faced growing challenges in managing large volumes of data from internal and external sources. These datasets were essential for allocating government funding, supporting healthcare providers with insights, and fulfilling evolving federal reporting requirements.
At the time, healthcare providers had limited visibility into their submitted data and no access to real-time reporting. Additionally, SWSPHN needed to maintain ISO 27001 compliance, enhance collaboration, and ensure stakeholders could make data-informed decisions quickly and securely.
“Primary Health Networks are provided with funds for services to meet specific needs in their area. We then have to work out how the service should be designed to meet those needs, and that requires lots of data.”
Nick McGhie, Digital Health & Data Manager, SWSPHN
SWSPHN engaged Notitia to lead the move from Qlik Sense Client-Managed to Qlik Cloud Analytics. The migration was completed in just 10 days and included:
• Data Strategy and Roadmaps aligned with long-term goals
• Competitive Vendor Evaluation and Quoting
• Full Qlik Cloud Migration and licensing setup
• Development of Custom Dashboards tailored to user roles
• Aesthetic and functional customisation to align with SWSPHN branding
• Integration with Office 365 and MS Teams for collaboration
• Data Literacy Training to support user adoption
This fast and collaborative approach ensured minimal disruption and maximum impact.
“Notitia put together an impressive proposal for us that went to our executive for consideration, and was approved.”
Nick McGhie, Digital Health & Data Manager, SWSPHN
Since adopting Qlik Cloud Analytics, SWSPHN has launched several initiatives and now supports over 200 commissioned services with secure, accessible insights.
• Real-time dashboards for providers to track performance and outcomes
• Integration with existing tools for seamless collaboration
• Customised dashboards for program-specific reporting
• Two pilot programs (mental health and AOD) with external user access
• Scalable solution to meet future analytics and reporting needs
“More people have better access to data. That’s leading to better insights and ultimately better outcomes for the programs and initiatives that we manage for the people of South Western Sydney.”

SWSPHN is one of 31 not-for-profit Primary Health Networks in Australia funded by the Federal Department of Health and Aged Care. Serving over one million residents across seven local government areas, SWSPHN supports 1,300 GPs across 400 practices. The organisation plays a critical role in allocating government funding, supporting healthcare providers, and reporting on community healthcare needs.
SWSPHN faced significant challenges in managing unstructured datasets from multiple internal and external sources. These datasets were essential for:
• Allocating government funding to specific healthcare initiatives.
• Supporting healthcare providers with accurate insights.
• Meeting evolving government reporting requirements.
Healthcare providers submitting data through SWSPHN were unable to see real-time results of their submissions, and reproduced data was often incomplete or inaccurate. Additionally, the organisation needed to ensure compliance with ISO 27001 information security standards while improving collaboration and data access.
